1-mile registrations on or before May 12, 2023, can purchase a T-shirt(s). After that date, shirts and sizes are not guaranteed to be on sale/available on the event day. A white or light color T-shirt is recommended if you want to experience the “splash of color” feature of the event.
As a fun part of this event, participants can experience being splashed with color. If you do not want to be “splashed,” then you can avoid (most of) it by staying to one side of the course. Our first event may not quite be like the full The Color RunTM experience, but we do plan on having color fun as part of the 1-Mile Family Fun Walk! The amount and degree to which we are able to have fun with color as part of the 5K Run/Walk depends on sponsors and the success of the event. The color dust is non-toxic, biodegradable, and not harmful to wildlife or vegetation. That said, this event will use a minimal amount of color in order to maintain a low environmental impact. After the event is over, leaf blowers will be used to help disperse any excess color dust off of walkways to help prevent it from being tracked into buildings/around the park. A nice rain will wash everything away.
- The 5K Timed Race begins at 8:00 am (CST)
- The 5K Walk begins (approximately) at 8:05 am (CST)
- The 1-Mile Children & Family Walk begins at 9:00 am (CST)
