THE TRI-STATE’S PREMIER LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Begin Your Journey at SVELC

We invite families across Southern Indiana, Southern Illinois, and Henderson, KY to join our community. As the only Reggio Emilia-inspired center in the Evansville area, we offer accredited enrollment for children six (6) weeks to five (5) years of age. Join a legacy of excellence that has served the Tri-State since 1918.

Enrollment & Admission Process

As the longest-serving local childhood education provider, our admission process is designed to support the continuity of care for our current families while welcoming new Tri-State partners. Admission for new families begins each April. Due to our status as the region’s only Reggio-inspired center, spaces fill quickly across our Birth-to-Three and Pre-K programs. We offer full-time enrollment opportunities for the age groups listed to the right.

Serving families in Vanderburgh, Henderson, and surrounding counties.

Enrollment Policies

Yearly Enrollment

Beginning with our current families, we start enrollment for each upcoming School Year (August-May) and Summer Session (June and July) in March. Admission for new families begins in April. Final tuition & fees changes should be available and updated before enrollment begins.

Required Health Documentation

Based on licensing requirements and regulations, it is mandatory for us to maintain current health records on file for each child. Required medical documentation is needed before infants, age six (6) weeks to twelve (12) months, will be admitted. Children over twelve (12) months of age must submit required medical documents within thirty (30) days of enrollment.

Families will be required to provide proof of yearly well-child checkups for each enrolled child. This documentation must be provided to us, along with an updated list of immunizations.

Attendance

Children will maximize their experience at St. Vincent and their future learning if they are regularly in full-day attendance. We only offer full-day enrollment. Consistent attendance issues impacting the educational and/or care experience will be addressed with families as needed.

Family Communication

We use ProCare as our Child Care Management System. This will be the primary communication source between staff and families. Upon Enrollment, families will be required to have at least one parent/guardian signed up for the ProCare software. It is essential that we always have up to date and accurate contact information on file for all parents/guardians, as well as any persons listed as a designated pick-up. Teachers also have St. Vincent emails for communication with families.

Family Information Changes

A “Change of Information Form” must be completed when families have a change of address or phone number, adding or removing permission for child pick up, or a change in employment. Change of Information Forms are available at the front desk. At least once per year, we renew our records and require all families to update necessary forms.

Emergency Closures

We will generally be in session unless: a governmental agency declares a state of emergency and requests all businesses, factories, etc. to be closed; or the President/Executive Director announces a weather-related or safety-related closing or delay.

In the event that we must close, dismiss children early, or delay opening, families may tune into local news outlets for announcements. We will also communicate via ProCare and text messaging system to families. We do not necessarily follow public or private school schedules.

Holiday Observances

The children enrolled at St. Vincent, and their families represent many different religions, nationalities, ethnic groups, family structures and therefore, holiday themes will emphasize multi-cultural traditions and focus on exploration of each child’s identity and culture. The folklore and customs of each are an important part of our collective culture and are presented as such. The spirit of joy and happiness is the common theme. Families are encouraged to share their traditions and customs with teachers, other children, and other families.

Schedule Information

We are open Monday through Friday, 6:30 am – 5:30 pm.

If the school must close for any reason, including emergencies, natural disasters, governmental regulations or recommendations, and/or pandemics, then operating hours are subject to change. Families should be prepared to continue paying the weekly tuition.

Financial Assistance

We understand that the cost of high-quality early education has the potential to be expensive for a family. We accept many national, state, and local forms of financial assistance.
