All living beings, especially children, are worthy of admiration. We honor their rights, their perspectives, and become advocates for their individual dignity and spirit which makes them unique.
Connection is the whole of life and the foundation of our work. In every interaction, we strive to engage with one another, our surroundings, our resources, and our world in ways that foster collaboration and inclusion.
We honor our commitment to leadership and innovation in education, and believe that our expertise drives excellence, our vision creates progress, and our voice compels meaningful transformation.
At St. Vincent Early Learning Center (SVELC), we provide Reggio-inspired early childhood education in Evansville, Indiana. Our child-centered approach supports the development of infants, toddlers, and pre-kindergarten-aged children through exploration, creativity, and meaningful relationships.
Our vision is to provide high-quality early childhood education through a well-rounded curriculum that prepares children for long-term success in school and life. We support families by connecting them with programs and resources that address financial and social challenges, helping them move toward stability and self-sufficiency. Through strong community partnerships, we serve as a gateway to a broader network of services that benefit both children and families.
Our educational approach supports the whole child, fostering growth across physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and linguistic development, including bilingual and multilingual learning. These areas are deeply connected, with each one strengthening and supporting the others through a child-centered, relationship-based environment.
Rooted in compassion, service, and justice, Vincentian values guide how we care for children and families. We emphasize empathy, respect, and a commitment to supporting those most in need, helping build a more just and compassionate community.
Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, our classrooms encourage curiosity, creativity, and meaningful relationships. Children are seen as capable learners, with educators guiding exploration based on their interests and ideas.
We believe meaningful connections with nature support children’s growth and development. Through outdoor experiences and natural elements in the classroom, children explore, discover, and build a deeper understanding of the world around them.
We take a holistic approach to child development, supporting social and emotional well-being alongside early learning. By understanding how children grow and learn, we help build a strong foundation for confidence, relationships, and lifelong learning.
Since 1918, St. Vincent Early Learning Center has served our community by providing affordable, high-quality early childhood education—because every child deserves a strong start.
As one of the oldest early learning centers in Indiana, SVELC is nationally accredited and led by professional, degreed educators who are deeply committed to each child’s growth and development. We work intentionally to ensure children and families have access to positive early experiences that support long-term success.
We welcome you to the St. Vincent family.
