Thank you for your interest in St. Vincent Early Learning Center, and taking time out to read all of our info. I became a teacher because I wanted to be able to make a difference in someone’s life. The biggest reward for me in my profession is watching for that moment when something “clicks” in the mind a child, and you know that they’ve finally made a connection and understand. It can take two minutes or two months, but that moment of recognition is so fulfilling for me.

There are many reasons that I love working at SVELC, but one of the biggest is that I am given room to grow in my position as a teacher. The majority of the time, I am learning right along with my students. I am allowed space and time to experiment, learning what things work and what things might not work. Although I’ve been teaching for a few years now, I am still building skills that are used every day.

Outside of work, I am a huge animal lover who basically has a zoo at home! I love to spend time with my animals and volunteer at the local rescues. I also am a huge bookworm, and reading is one of my favorite pastimes. I love nature and spending time outside, whether it is hiking and camping, or just sitting on my back deck watching the birds. My love of nature definitely comes out in the classroom as well, because we LOVE being outside and bringing natural elements into our classroom.
